Clade: Angiosperms

This category contains all fictional species included within the clade Angiosperms, a clade whose members are more commonly known as flowering plants. This group includes the majority of all modern plants. These plants produce flowers, hence the name, but they also produce food like grains, fruits and vegetables. They first evolved in the Early Cretaceous period, about 135 million years ago, and after the non-avian dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago, they became more abundant along with mammals and birds and are the dominant group of plants on Earth today.
